The business plan must obtain approval from the National Council of Immigration to be eligible. You must demonstrate proof of substantial residence and de facto presence in Brazil.The company must be in good standing and employ local residents,

Real Estate Investment Option:

  • Invest a minimum of USD 135,000 in real estate in the northern estate regions of Brazil.

  • Invest a minimum of USD 192,000 in real estate in other regions.

The investment must be maintained to retain residency until citizenship is obtained.

Path to citizenship

Under the business investment option, to maintain permanent residency, the applicant must not be absent from Brazil for more than six consecutive months. After four years of continuous residency in the country, the applicant becomes eligible to apply for citizenship.

Under the real estate investment route, a resident permit is initially issued for two years and can be renewed indefinitely as long as the investment is maintained. To retain residency, the applicant must physically be present in Brazil for at least 30 days per year. Moreover, those who invest over USD 200,000 in real estate are eligible to apply for citizenship after just 3 years instead of the normal 4.
